Few cities have such a magnificent setting or possess such a genuine, rich and varied cultural identity as Lisbon

If you’re dreaming about your next trip to Europe, come and discover the sunny Lisbon

Bringing together tradition and modernity, Lisbon has a unique identity, present around every corner, on every window sill and on each picturesque and colourful street. It's old. It's modern. It is, without a doubt, always surprising.

Lisbon is a city that makes you want to go exploring. With over a thousand years of history, the city has a massive heritage to offer, through monuments, gardens, squares, and museums. Take the emblematic yellow tram, or simply walk through Lisbon's typical neighbourhoods with it’s the cobblestone alleyways and narrow streets and experience Lisbon’s genuine and pleasant feel (day or night). Look for the viewpoints, there are beautiful and unexpected views waiting to be discovered, on top of every hill.

Finally make sure to take a moment to meet the welcoming and friendly Portuguese people. After all, Lisbon is also famous for its hospitality and the family-like way it welcomes visitors.

public transport cards

Although they have different names, the "7 colinas" and the "Viva Viagem" cards are identical and are recommended for those who plan on doing few trips in the transport network. These cards are rechargeable, valid for one year and can be used in several Lisbon public transports.

These cards may be charge with one or more trips as well as with a 24 hours pass (€ 6,15).

Another option is the Lisboa Viva Zapping. Again the card is the same but it works as a prepaid card where the value of each trip is discounted from your card's balance, depending on the price and the conditions of use for each public operator.

 The main advantage is that each trip (one way) applicable to the Metro and Carris (buses and trams) is cheaper (€ 1,30).

You can also use it in the CP trains and ferries but you will be charged with their respective fares.

You may change your other cards to the zapping mode at any time as long as there are no more trips left on the card.
